Do I need a website?
In short – yes! The majority of customers (including you) will research a product or service online before making any purchase or commitment. A website is seen as the modern day ‘shop window’. If you’re not there to be found, then you are potentially missing out on lots of custom.
What type of thing should I think about before getting in touch?
Before you get in touch with us, it’s probably a good idea to ask yourself some questions about what you’d like to achieve with a new website. Think of some key features you’d like to see – for example, if you’d like to be able to sell your products in an online shop, or if you’d like your customers to be able to book an online appointment. It’s also really important for us to understand what your business does and who your customers are. After all – nobody knows your business better than you do!
What about domain names?
If you already have a domain name, we will happily transfer this across with your new website. You can either continue to manage this yourself, or we will look after it for you as part of your aftercare package. If you don’t have one yet, we’ll work with you to decide on the best domain name for your business and purchase it on your behalf. This will be discussed before providing you with a quotation for your project and will be included in your price.
Do I get an email address?
We agree that having an e-mail address to match your new website gives a much more professional impression to your customers. As part of our service, we will set you up with a new e-mail address using a mainstream supplier like Google or Microsoft, for which there will be an additional annual fee of approx. £35. We will discuss this with you before starting your project.
What can I have on my website?
During our initial conversations – which can be face-to-face, over the phone or by e-mail, we’ll discuss with you exactly what you need for your business. We offer everything from a very basic website showcasing your services and contact details, to more complex websites offering social media integration, video and e-commerce capabilities, enabling you to sell your products and services online.
What content do I need to supply?
Before we start on your website, you will need to provide us with the content that you’d like to be included. This includes the words and any photos/videos that you want featured. We will then evaluate this content and make the necessary improvements for SEO purposes, which will, over time, improve your search engine ranking. Don’t worry – if required, we will work with you to create a site map and provide a template for you to complete for this content.
How do I make changes to my website after it’s launched?
You will have 28 days following the launch of your website to make last minute simple changes to any of the text at no additional charge. For any further changes, we can either set you up with your very own content management system (available at an additional charge), or we can take care of it for you for £25 per hour. We will agree on your preference before beginning your project.
What about hosting?
After launching your website, we will host it for you free of charge for one year. If you then decide to continue with our service, we will charge an annual hosting and support fee, with our basic packages starting from £150pa. This cost varies depending on the type and size of your website, and the cost will be agreed at the start of your project.
How long does it take?
This depends on a number of factors, including how big your website is along with your readiness to send us your website content. Most projects are delivered within 4-8 weeks, but we will be able to more accurately estimate this for you after our initial discussions.
